RESUME: PETER NICHOLSON
Peter Nicholson was recruited to Hawthorn Football Club as a 17 year old and spent two years at Glenferrie playing Under 19 and Reserves Football. Apart from a short stint on St Kilda Football Club's senior list in 1985 he spent the majority of his playing career with Box Hill in the then VFA. He was a member of Box Hill's first two senior premierships (1984 & 1986) winning 3 club best & fairests and the 1984 2nd division Field Medal for the competition's best player. He is a life member and member of Box Hill Football Club's team of the century.

Peter coached Premierships at East Burwood (EFL), Casey Scorpions (VFL) and St Bernards & Old Haileybury in the VAFA.

Possibly Nicholson's proudest senior coaching achievement, he was Park Orchard's Inaugural Senior coach when the newly formed club commenced in the Eastern Football Competition in 2012. The foundations laid under his watch saw the club promoted to 3rd division in only its third year of existence with consistent victories in the clubs infancy over football clubs with 100 year plus histories.

Peter's junior coaching record is long and varied. He began coaching junior cricket at the age of 17 and 35 years later has just wound up a ten year stint coaching under 12's to under 18's at Park Orchards Cricket Club. In Secondary School competitions he has coached youth teams to State titles in Volleyball and Basketball.

In junior Football competitions Nicholson spent 2 years with Eastern Ranges (finalists both years) as well as coaching 3 premierships at Park Orchards FC (one in the under 14's and two in the under 18's). He also lead Eltham High School to the School Sport Victoria State Championship in 2013 having to win 11 consecutive matches to take out the title.

Peter is a passionate coach with an ability to get the best out of individuals and teams. His teaching background (30 years as a Physical Education teacher with a major in coaching & skill acquisition) enables him to prepare players well both physically and mentally. He creates outstanding learning environments where excellence is fostered. As a level 3 coach with 20 years experience in elite senior competitions and 35 years coaching juniors, he is well credentailed to assist and mentor those willing to improve their own coaching skills.
